Bobble Bobble Arcade Game

bubble bobble arcade machine flyer

A Fantastic Game the first time I saw game where you could collect letters to make a word "EXTEND" bonuses and extra lifes
You have to guide the two hero's Bub and Bob through 100 levels of adventure to rescue their girlfriends

TIPS
The EXTEND letters appear on stages where the bubble can float from the bottom of the screen.
always pop as many bubbles with monsters inside at the same time as you can WHY?
The EXTEND letters appear according to the number of monsters you kill at the same time on the stage before the current one you are on.

all bubbles on the screen turn into fruit if the hundreds and tens of your score are the same when you kill the last monster on the current stage

Secrets sourced form various places off the net
These codes must be entered on the title screen showing Bubble Bobble written inside a cloud.

BUBBLE JUMP BUBBLE JUMP BUBBLE JUMP RIGHT 1P-the screen will say original game mode and you will get the bonus doors whether you die or not.

LEFT JUMP LEFT 1P LEFT BUBBLE LEFT 1P- it will say power up at the bottom of the screen and you will have fast feet and fast bubbles

1P JUMP BUBBLE LEFT RIGHT JUMP 1P RIGHT- You play the game with the monsters from the first 50 screens in the last 50 and visa-versa.

High Score table cheats
At the end of a game enter the initials below, They mainly effect the second bonus object that appears on the first set. The best way to see these rewards is to bubble trap the first 3 monsters and wait for the second bonus to appear, get the bonus and then blow as many bubbles as you can to get the maximum points available.

KTT  beer-turns bubbles into pizzas at end of level, what a perfect match !!!
...     Knife-flying cakes/beer/etc across the screen, turn enemies into 6k diamonds
MTJ  coke can-flying cakes/beer/etc across the screen, turn enemies into 6k diamonds
SEX  pitch fork-flying cakes/beer/etc across the screen, turn enemies into 6k diamonds
TAK  octopus-turns bubbles into X's at end of level
STR  flamingo-turns bubbles into smiling turd at end of level

Space Invaders Cheat

Space Invader Aracade

Custom built Space Invader
very proud of this one, it plays 60 classic games all on one machine!

SPACE INVADERS CHEAT
got this from KLOV.com

"FURRER" trick allows you to get 300 points per mystery ship every time. It has to do with the way the random number generator works - at the beginning of every board count 22 shots whether you hit an invader or not. Wait for the mystery ship. Shoot once to hit it to earn 300 pts. Now count 14 shots. Wait again for the mystery ship. Shoot once at it for another 300 pts. count 14 shots and repeat for the rest of the level. once on the new level, start again at 22 and repeat to 14. This trick was invented by Eric Furrer who to this day holds the Stratford Record for non-stop Space Invaders play -- 38 hours and 37 minutes and an accumulation of 1,114,000 points 111 roll overs, averaging three rolls an hour.
Mystery Ship Shot Deflection: On the fifth wave of invaders, the second mystery ship will deflect your shot with the rarely heard "deflection shot" a shot played backwards.

Operation Wolf Arcade

Had the Operation wolf and Lethal Enforcers arcade machines arrive today.
both non working machines full of cob webs inside!!!  It will take a few weeks of work to get these running.
Nice to see Taito Operation Wolf cabinet again, always liked that game, first had it on the Commodore 64, it never used to load properly dispite waiting for an age for it to load on tape!
interestingly both these machines have the monitor screen facing upwards and its the mirror reflection you are looking at.  same trick i used in Midways Space Invader cabinet in 1984 when i opened the back door.

There are two operation wolf cabinets available I have the UK version I believe which is the lower one here. i think it maybe just screen size being the difference

Dragon's Lair

I remember playing Dragon's Lair around the time of 1984 at Barry Island in Wales it was actually the same arcade that the fictional charactor Nessa played by Ruth Jones in Gavin and Stacy worked in the show.
I recall seeing the aracde for the first time and was blown away by the
amazing animation!! it was near the Spy Hunter Arcade another great game.
Looking at the graphics it seemed to good to be true was this really a game!! I was used to buying home computer games for my Dragon 32k and Commodore 64k and being impressed with the cassette cover artwork portraying the game and always disapointed how the game looked on the screen nothing like the cover!

The animation was mainly done by Disney's Don Bluth which took 6 years to draw! the voices were the actual animators too. I was also blown away by the price per go £1 !! thats a fortune back then when most games were 10p I could buy an ice cream and bag of chips for a £1 back then!
I still had a go and straight away was totaly confused at the game play or lack of I should say!
To anyone that hasn't played this game before it runs of a laser disc, its actually just a series of video animation clips you have to push buttons and move the joystick in the correct direction at certain points during the fast paced scenes. The timing has to be pretty precise from what i recall you get a time frame of a second and most of the time you just die. If you hit the control in time it moves to the next scene where straight away you have to a gain make a split second decision. The game is extremely hard! if i remember correctly the next time you have a go the scenes are not in the same order so the next time you are learning again. very frustrating

i've not played this game since 1984 but
the animation and sound is timeless on this game, a really work of art
Its one of those games if you did played it back then you will never forget it
I don't think it was as popular in the UK as it should of been due to laser disc reliability issues, the cost per play and the lack of game play that confused many.
still its a ground breaking game that has stood the test of time
DVD version fot his game are available on ebay for under £10 well worth buying a copy

i'm looking forward getting to run on my arcade, its very tricky to setup!
it is now available on the iphone/ipad but reviews say it is a bad port and nothing like the arcade version

Atari Battlezone Arcade 1980

A game from Atari in 1980 which had a very  unique and special arcade cabinet
two versions of the arcade came out one of which you stood on a step and peered through some periscope style device to play the game. Its possibly the first ever 3D vector game that came out.

Being a fan of the original machine we paid homage to it by building this one off machine.
it took 4 months to design and build with an update on the artwork to match the look of the game more than the original artwork did.
Complete 3D screen surround, two sheets of glass at different angles to give the 3D effect depth
The control panel is fitted with two dual trigger joysticks and  6 buttons each.
